On the surface, someone may listen to this song and feel it's just an infectious song, or they may be the opposite and not like it at all. Personally, it's a song that resonates with me, not just for the optimistic tone but for what I see as the deeper meaning behind it.
Symbolic to all of us is the astronaut's experience of stepping out into the vastness and darkness of the unknown, not knowing what will happen next no matter how many times he rehearsed the actions and protocols necessary to complete the task at hand.
"I'm moving outside. Okay, I'm letting go." "How am I doing?" "You're doing fine."
There is always a level of anxiety as we step out into the unknown, whether that is stepping outside of our comfort zone, or making a choice in life that is drastically different from our past, or delving head first into emotions we didn't want to admit were there. No matter how many times we have rehearsed the next step or know what we should do in our lives, the hardest thing is "letting go" of what was so familiar to us and actually taking that step in a new direction, but the rewards can be absolutely amazing when we REALLY let go and take that leap of faith in our lives. Sometimes what we most need to remember is to have faith in ourselves and what we're capable of.
"I'm beginning to see a point of light on the horizon... it's getting larger..." "Well that, that's just beautiful."
It can be scary-as-hell letting go and cutting our own path through the forest. Along the way you may have some hiccups, get cut by thorns, and have some growing pains. You may runner band back into the security of your old ways, behaviors and thought patterns. Which is ok too. It's your choice, your journey... your story.
"Zero G's, I don't mind."
Personally, I like adventure and have seen the sunrise numerous times after I've liberated myself by "letting go" into the unknown not knowing what to anticipate around the corner, and it was those moments and choices that were the most rewarding to me.
So who want's to go on a space walk?
-Namaste, Romana
